Huddling Village
2017
Penguins huddling is the collective wisdom of surviving in the coldest climates on planet Earth. Their black feather absorbs daylight heat, and the blubber in their bodies insulate them. However, huddling is the best way to contain heat and overcome wind chills reaching -60 Celsius (-76 Fahrenheit). Inspired by this smart activity, this village is designed based on a cell system converging to a bigger room where residents gather together and socialize. The town naturally induces the gathering and suggests a unique co-living space.
